Moved from to about a week ago on the advice of friends that also use

So far very speedy and the price is hard to beat:

$4.95 a month gets you
2 FREE domain names and up to 100 free sub domains
120 GB web space
1,200 GB traffic
Apache/1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP 4.4.4
MySQL 4.0.27-standard-log with up to 25 seperate databases
also Perl, Python, PHP3,PHP4, PHP5 support
90 day money back guarantee

e107 installed effortlessly although I thought their incoming FTP could have been faster. Biggest complaint with them is no "live-chat" tech or sales support available at this price level, only phone or VERY slow email. Had live-chat with and it's very handy once you get used to having it.

Had problems getting PHP mail to work but SMTP does ok.

I'll add my approval to the 1 and 1 service. I've recently set up an e107 system there and had very little difficulty. Haven't had to talk to tech support yet so I can't comment on how responsive they are. I've had no problems using PHP Mail with my site.

I have been using 1and1 for almost 2 years now. You can't beat the price, and the uptime is fantastic. But if you need tech support, it's not the greatest. And their email support, forget it, took them 3 weeks to answer my email, and of course by then I had the problem figured out on my own.

I find it very expensive, 4.95/month is an expensive package
